WHAT TYPE OF ELECTRIC BIKES DO YOU RENT?

We rent the RadRunner Electric Utility Bike. The RadRunner is an electric bike by Rad Power Bikes. The RadRunner is the very first E-Bike to have an adjustable driver’s seat that can either be flush with the passenger’s seat or adjusted higher like a standard bike.

WILL YOU DROP OFF AND PICK UP ANYWHERE?

YES, we provide drop off and pick-ups at any location in Asheville. If you’d like a different pick-up location than your drop off location, that can also be arranged. We prefer to have a 2-4 Hour Heads up for drop off and pick-up services.

WHAT DO YOUR E-BIKE RENTALS INCLUDE?

The E-Bike Rental includes of course the E-bike itself but also a helmet, bike lock, safety/ride lessons and suggestions! We love recommending places to ride, visit and eat at!

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS FOR RIDERS?

Before riding, you must listen to the safety & riding instructions. You also must read & sign a liability waiver. There is minimum of 12 years of age to ride on your own and a 300lb weight limit for all EBikes. You cannot ride if you are pregnant or intoxicated. You need to stay in bike lanes if they are provided as well as trails. Helmets should be worn and always follow traffic laws, regulations and be safe. If parking the E-Bike, you MUST lock it up with provided lock set.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE IN ORDER TO RENT AN E-BIKE?

We will need a copy of your Government Issued ID, Cell Phone Number, Address, Email Address and Credit Card in case of emergency, theft or damages. Please also wear appropriate shoes and hydrate!

WHAT DOES PEDAL ASSIST MEAN?

Pedal assist is a mode that provides power only when you are pedaling. As you pedal, the bike moves easier than a normal bike giving you a slight boost in speed. As you slow your pedaling, the pedal assist also slows. It does not jolt you or stop suddenly. Pedal assist makes your ride simple and easy, also allowing you to go further than you normally could go with a regular bike and with much less effort. 

WHAT IS THE RANGE OF ONE OF OUR FULLY CHARGED EBIKES?

ABOUT 45 Miles, sometimes more depending on the riders weight, terrain, wind conditions and riding style.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BATTERY IS RUNNING LOW DURING A RENTAL?

Two battery levels remaining – start heading to pick up location

One battery level remaining – make sure you are in a 5 mile radius of pick up location

WHAT DOES THROTTLE MODE MEAN?

When the throttle is engaged the motor provides power and propels you and the bike forward. A throttle allows you to pedal or just kick back and enjoy an effort free ride. This goes up to 20 MPH.

HOW IS YOUR E-BIKE FLEET MAINTAINED?

SKY E-BIKES has a daily service inspection to ensure all e-bikes are in safe, working order.

WHAT IF I CANNOT MAKE MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT?

SKY E-BIKES will work with you to reschedule on a date that works for you! This includes rain/bad weather. However, if you booked a special event (not private event) that required a 50% deposit, you will not be eligible for any refund.
